What a great 2 days at the Calgary Cat Festival and Market over this past weekend. I met so many great people and learned a lot about their cats (and dogs) and one of the things that came up time and time again was people have never thought about getting portraits done of their pets because they would never sit still……

Well, I can say majority of the cats/dogs that I photograph do not sit still. Let me reassure you, those are the best photographs because it is their personality and we want that to shine. They are never forced to do anything they do not want to do. I have ways to redirect and coax (so to speak) them to where they need to be.

If we are photographing outdoors, 95% of the pets are on leash. It’s all about safety first. You don’t see those leashes because I remove them in post processing.
