Well, here it goes, the dreaded blog post that I never thought I would have to write. I have started and stopped this post a few times now and struggle to find the exact words that can best reflect my feelings.
I have been a photographer for 10+ years and it has been an amazing ride. Not only did it allow me to be home with my daughter, it also provided me with education and knowledge of the photography world, my own sanity and financial contribution to our family. I have come to the realization that now that my daughter is getting older, I have a lot more free time available to me and have the urge to find a career path outside of the home.
Photography will always be a passion and I can’t see myself ever giving it up completely as I have too much fun doing it. Working for yourself, however, is a long and lonely journey. I crave daily connection and a team environment. I thrive on building relationships and find it pretty difficult to do when you are at home all of the time. I have made some pretty great friends along the way and some of those friends started as clients.
What I can say is that I am thankful for you all and our time together. Creating art was something I always wanted to do and it seemed to be out of reach for me until it wasn’t.
This is not goodbye though. I will still be taking on clients on a selective basis. Once I get myself organized and comfortable in my new position, I will be able to determine what this selective basis will look like. It may be once a month, it may be more or it may be less. Right now it is a lot of unknown. I am excited for the unknown. It is a new beginning and a new adventure. Let the adventure begin.
Sending love,
Lisa

Lindsey Simpson - Good for you Lisa! Very wise to continually pivot your career choices as your life evolves. It’s so important to listen for what really works for you at each stage. I really enjoyed the pet photo sessions I’ve had with you. I hope to fit in more photos in some form in the future however your selective schedule pans out, will keep an eye out for new blog posts. Good luck Lisa!

Terrill Bodner - Wow has it been that long since we 'met'? Your work is wonderful and whatever path you take, it will be right for you. Maybe one day we will meet in person and have a fun adventure. Kids do grow up so fast. Enjoy!
