Like many others, I fail to consistently update my headshot. Sometimes it’s because I don’t think about it but most of the time it’s because I hate being in front of the camera. Yes, as a photographer, I can hate the camera too. There, I said it. In reality I shouldn’t because there is no reason to fear the camera. I have said every excuse in the book just like all of you:
-
The camera doesn’t like me.
-
When I have lost weight I will.
-
I don’t have time.
-
I have nothing to wear.
-
I am just not comfortable.
And so on and so on……
Well, I can tell you a reason for every one of those excuses:
1. The camera doesn’t hate you, it’s the exact opposite, it loves you, you just do not love how some images make you look. We can work together to come up with beautiful images that you will be proud to display.
2. I’m not here to judge you or your weight. Afterall, I could stand to lose some weight also. If I waited for that to happen, I would never do it. There are ways that we can pose your body that will help you feel confident because you are beautiful and the world deserves to see you.
3. One hour of your time, that is all it takes. You have one hour to spare to be beautified and get gussied up.
4. Let’s go through your closet, I bet you have something that we can throw together that will make you feel fierce. If not, let’s go shopping for a new outfit that you have been dreaming of. Shopping is the best part!
5. Comfort comes from trusting yourself and trusting your photographer. Let’s build that relationship. Let’s talk it through and plan out your session. I am here to help you, guide you and create a new friendship.
Have you ever heard someone say that you don’t look like your headshot on your social media account, LinkedIn account or business website? When was the last time you had a professional headshot done? It’s time.
I have decided to update my self portrait every month until the end of the year and I will post it on my accounts so you can see them. For now, here is a timeline of me. Some are done by me and some are done by some amazing photographers. Enjoy the transition through time. It’s a gooder.
That’s it. That is all I have. I have nothing before 2016 which I did for my 40th birthday. Sure I have family photos and cell phone shots but no headshots or fun shots of me. There are so many different whys to get updated headshots from business to personal use, but I think one of the big ones that come to mind right now is that my daughter cannot see the history of me. Just me. To me, that is sad.
If you feel the same way I do, get in touch. Let's change this for you. Let me help you tell your story.
Sending love out to you all.
Lisa
