Happy New Year!
Wow! All I can say is W.O.W. What a whirlwind of a year. 2022 consisted of a lot of stepping stones to where I am now. I left a Real Estate Photography job that helped supplement my family through a couple of rough years. I was there for just shy of 3 years and learned many things along the way. I can honestly say it helped me become a better photographer. I am now solely working my dream job. Who would not love photographing cats and dogs as their day job? I know, silly question.
My studio was finally developed in the beginning of the year and it was the start of a long thought out plan of putting Savvy Cat Photography in motion again. I never stopped Savvy Cat Photography, it was just more of a part part time job when I was able to fit things in. After all, working a day job, having a family and juggling everything else in between took up most of my time. I can finally say that I am a full time Pet Photographer in Calgary and its surrounding area. Wahoo! Hooray! My studio grand opening was in June with a fundraiser for Meow Foundation which I will be holding again this year.
I taught two workshops during that same month and I can say it is something that fuels my passion to help people learn and grow with their own photography. I am hoping to have a couple workshops this year. The plans are still in the works. If you are interested in being the first to know, sign up here for my newsletter and you will be the first to know all the juicy details.
Between clients and other Pet Photographers, I have met some amazing people in 2022. They have not only helped me grow as a photographer. I have gained some pretty great friendships with them as well.
What is in store for Savvy Cat Photography for 2023? I will be working on updating my website and streamlining processes to make it easier for everyone. I am brainstorming on one or two fundraisers and will let you know when they are set. I will be continuing to invest in my education to learn new things both for business and photography. All in all, I am very excited for the 2023 season as this will be my first full year as a Pet Photographer.
For now, here are the best of 2022. Thank you to all of my clients, my friends and my family for making 2022 such a great year! I can’t wait to see what 2023 brings. May it bring you lots of love, laughter and meaningful connections.
Sending love out to you all.
Lisa
